Apple Valley
I took the full squishy and headed up to Apple Valley this morning. I met Chad and Kent, a couple of their friends and then later we met up wtih Gerald, who was looking for us. It was a typically Sycamore Rocks ride, which means it was slow speed technical stuff with a lot of chunky rocks to ride over, around and through. All four of us did pretty well and we covered pretty good ground for the trails there. But, still we probably didn’t do more than 8 or 9 miles in an hour and a half of ride time. It’s very slow going, but very fun and quite challenging.
Here’s Chad on the trail. Classic desert conditions, sunny, warm and breezy. Fortunately it wasn’t too warm so we had a great time.

There’s a lot of rocks out there and the trails have been designed to ride over them as much as possible. Here’s Gerald coming around one outcrop.

The fire crew was out there too. They were hiking up and down the hills. Good training for sure, but I think I’ll stick to riding my bike.
